The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid Serum: A Must-Have

The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid Serum: A Must-Have

As a Skincare enthusiast who often browses the web for the next skincare product to add to my stash, it is no coincidence that I copped The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid serum.

You may have heard of The Inkey List Skincare from your favourite Skinfluencer. Perhaps, you’re unfamiliar with this brand. The Inkey List is a skincare brand known to focus on single-ingredient products like The Ordinary, Good Molecules, Naturium and more. The Inkey List also powers SelflessbyHyram and have made quite a remarkable imprint in the Skincare market.

While stocking up on some products via their website; at the time, I was offered a free sample of my choice on purchase of $35 or more. After altering my cart more times than I wanted, I continued to checkout. Of the many options presented, from the Salicylic Acid Cleanser to the Peptide Volumizing hair treatment sample sizes, I gambled with my options and selected The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid serum.

Let’s get into it!

PRODUCT CLAIMS

Polyglutamic acid can hold up to four times more moisture than Hyaluronic Acid. The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid contains 3% PGA complex. The Inkey List describes it as “a high molecular weight amino polymer specifically designed to enhance skin moisturization on the surface”. This helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines, as well as brighten and even out skin tone. It targets dry skin and dehydrated skin. It is suitable for all skin types.

MY EXPERIENCE

I use The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid serum both in the morning and at night. I would apply it after the Etude House Soon Jung 5.5 Relief toner for better absorption. Then, I layer other products in my routine.

The Inkey List Polyglutamic acid serum has a strong prominent odour. I would describe it as the smell of new car tyres or even hair chemicals. Although, it doesn’t linger for too long after use.

There is an instant smoothness and soft glow to my skin once this product is applied. It gives the illusion of a blur filter on my face. It was quite exciting at first but became less interesting after I realised its second ingredient is Dimethicone.

I haven’t experienced irritation, itchiness, or burning while using The Inkey List Polyglutamic Acid serum. It doesn’t feel sticky or tacky. As expected, it is hydrating and it fits right into my present skincare routine. I tend to avoid the eye area while applying this product. I haven’t experienced any pilling with this product. Makeup also sits beautifully on it.

It is worth mentioning that I typically have normal to dry skin.

PROS

  • Convenient application
  • Delivers hydration
  • Relatively accessible
  • Pairs well with other products

CONS

  • It has a strong unpleasant odour

CONCLUSION

This product lives up to its claims. In my opinion, The Inkey List Polyglutamic acid serum is worth the purchase especially if your routine currently focuses on hydration. If you can get past the strong odour, this should be a great addition to your skincare routine. I am not so bothered by this one con. I hope to see more skincare products formulated with Polyglutamic acid.
