Etude House SoonJung 10 Free Moist Emulsion: A Review

Etude House SoonJung 10 Free Moist Emulsion: A Review

Etude House is a popular Korean skincare brand. The Etude House SoonJung line is by far my favorite line of products from Etude House. The products in this line are soothing, and formulated minimally, considering there are no actives in the entire line. The Etude House SoonJung Emulsion is free of additives such as mineral oil, fragrance, color, etc.

This product is noncomedogenic and formulated with irritated and/or damaged skin in mind. I purchased the Etude House SoonJung Set which contained the toner, and emulsion.

I have been using this moisturizer for about six months now. It has definitely played a huge role in calming down my irritated skin. This emulsion was effective and didn’t cause any irritation or breakouts.

DESCRIPTION

The Etude House SoonJung Emulsion is an emulsion. This means that it has a lighter consistency than most moisturizers. It comes in a glass bottle and a nice pump system. The product inside is white in colour. It is very lightweight in texture. Hence, I would recommend it for summer months.

It leaves a subtle glow and is great to use under makeup. It also does not contain any fragrance.

PRODUCT CLAIMS

The Etude House SoonJung emulsion has 93% naturally derived ingredients. This means that it should suit even the most sensitive of skin types. The formulation of these ingredients together claims to repair skin damage, as well as nourish and soothe irritated skin.

I love that this product doesn’t claim to do more than it does, which I appreciate.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

Prior to this, I had used the Cerave Moisturizing Lotion. While it was an okay moisturizer, I didn’t like the faint chemical smell that I soon got really sick of. The product sat on my skin as opposed to the Etude House Emulsion which literally sank into my skin flawlessly.

While I particularly don’t have sensitive skin, I had a lot of issues with my skin barrier. My skin would not hold moisture and I was producing a lot of sebum. This emulsion as well as the other products in my routine helped me heal my skin barrier in a matter of weeks.

Some other products that I tried during that time made my skin tingle. This product did not. It’s a regular moisturizer, nothing special. My intention for getting the product was to ensure I didn’t have any actives in my routine while I healed my skin barrier. Its claims to be non-irritating to the skin is why I purchased it and it truly delivered on those claims

It is very moisturizing and a little goes a long way especially if used on damp skin. I would assume this would be amazing for even the most sensitive of skin as it was non irritating for my easily irritated skin. Also, it is not sticky or tacky. I believe it is suitable for all skin types and would be great if you’re avoiding actives in your routine.
